Announcing our New Arrival

Our new DOGGIE.....will arrive tonight!
We are adopting a greyhound. His name is Dobber. We may change his name to something else. We aren't crazy about the name Dobber and he barely knows it anyway.
We will go through with the offical adoption process tonight. We will keep you updated!!

We are both really excited to have our very first doggie!

Here are some pictures of him from the GPA of Wisconsin website.

Picture of the Day

A sail boat docking on Lake Mendota, Sunday afternoon.

A visit to Miller Park

Over the weekend Bill and Courtney came to see us. With Jimmy's connections through various sports and golf venues we were able to walk out on the field and have a tour of Miller Park.

I never realized how small you feel or just how large a stadium is until you are standing on the field.

Here are some pictures from our visit.

The Monster

This was the "monster" I found in my tomatoes. He creeps me out!!!

My lunch battle....

I am on week 2 of my "I will not eat out at lunch!" struggle. Today will make two work weeks were I have brought my lunch each day. Sadly, the first week was only 4 days.

For some reason this summer I have been really bad about eating out for lunch. Realizing something had to give I chose to not eat out at lunch. Or just not as often.

Here at the university it is so hard. At Duke had I to drive or walk to the Great Hall for lunch. This campus is different. I am within walking distance of 10-20 or more places to have a great lunch. Which is very tempting. My building even has its own food court.

Jimmy and I talked and we did not want to compromise our Saturday lunches out. So weekday lunches it is. Next week I am going for week 3, wish me luck! I will try to hold my breath as I pass by Five Guys with its wonderful smell of freshly cooked fries.

My first day of school.

I started a leadership series at UW today. It was so nice feeling like a student this morning and walking to class. The series is offered through HR and Continuing Education. I am looking forward to the classes.
