Note to Self

Remember to pack your clothes for the next day before they are loaded into the U-Haul.

Wish I had the camera when I was climbing through the packed U-Haul, trying to find my dresser!!

The little things....

Our waitress made my day yesterday. Jimmy and I had lunch at Famous Dave's BBQ. I have not tried BBQ here in Wisconsin since we have moved and was pleasantly surprised by the BBQ at Famous Dave's. But this was not what made my day.

When our waitress took our drink order I opted for tea. Much to my surprise she replied "sweet or unsweet."

So there I was drinking good ole sweet tea, eating BBQ and listening to country music.....all in Madison.

A work in progress....

We have mainly been painting in the house this week. Here are some pictures for you.

We painted the fireplace!! Still needs two more coats of paint.

Homeowners....

As we signed the paperwork on Friday morning I could hardly contain my smile. We signed and signed and signed and then it happened. The closing agent took our check and made copies of the closing paperwork and that was that!

On Saturday morning we arrived at our new home. It is amazing pulling into the driveway. The grass was green, flowers were blooming people were outside walking. It is unbelievable. It felt like we were visiting someone else "could this place be ours." We opened the door and ran around the house like a bunch kids going to Disneyworld!

On Saturday we installed a fan and lighting fixtures. Ginger and Aaron came over and we had lunch. On Sunday we painted our bedroom and Jimmy installed more lighting fixures and mowed the yard.

It was actually fun. I am sure it will get old after a little while but it sure is nice to be able to paint and do things outside.

Today we are painting another bedroom and possibly starting another one if we have time.

Here is a quick video I took on Saturday. I will have another one soon.

Laughter, Sunshine and Fun

I was all smiles, luggage in hand and wandering through the Jacksonville airport in search of my friends. I always love the hugs and excitement that comes from greeting a friend or loved one at the airport. You know......the slow motion movie style run towards your loved one. I had spotted them. They were there. All smiles just like me. It had been way too long since I had seen them!

Let's rewind a few hours:
In the wee hours of Friday morning I found myself restless. I was waking up every few hours and hoping to get back to sleep. All I kept thinking was, "I don't need to be tired today." My alarm was suppose to go off at 4am and it was merely 1:45 and I wasn't tired!! If you know me and many of you know me quite well, when I can't sleep I get very....less just say irritated. I toss and turn, huff and puff, get up, get water, lay back down, try to sleep. Well, it didn't work. I was up at 2am, with no hope of sleeping until 4. I was just to excited about my weekend.

At 6am I was headed to Detroit and then on to Jacksonville. I had never had a girls weekend where I have flown anywhere. Of course I have flown in for weddings and stuff but this was different. This was our weekend!

We had such a nice time. Having dinner together, dancing, kayaking in St. Augustine, and watching Sex and the City while drinking cosmos and of course being our silly selves.

Here is our weekend in pictures:

At the fort in St. Augustine.

Kayaking at St. Augustine:

About to start our night: Kayaking: Acting crazy at the brewery:

What a nice weekend!! Love you guys!!
