Springtime Weekend

Over the weekend we enjoyed the spring time weather and had a picnic on the lake with the Mercier's. Here are some pictures of our weekend around town.

What's Up Mother Nature?

April brings about green grass, chirping birds, daffodils and that dreaded word - snow.

We woke up this morning to a slight dusting of snow and very windy cold conditions. Not cool.

I guess I have to be reminded that April in Wisconsin is very unpredictable. Hopefully we will be back in the 60s by the weekend.

Honest Tea

Has anyone tried Honest Tea or Honest Ade?

I just drank some today and really liked it. I wanted something different with my lunch, not water and not a soft drink. I went down to the new grocery store that is in my building and found this product. Not too sweet, not too many calories like soda and not boring like water. I normally drink water for lunch but today I needed taste and this was very yummy.

Very good.

The sign says it all

Spring has sprung.

Rewarding Weekend

Over the weekend I volunteered at All Dressed Up. This is the 6th annual event hosted by the Junior League of Madison. Where local high school girls can come and pick out a prom dress for free!!

We had over 3000 dresses for the girls to choose from. They could also pick out shoes and accessories as well.

It was a lot of fun helping them choose dresses, pick out colors and styles. It was neat seeing what looked good on them and then recommending color choices. I helped one girl choose a brown dress that she said she never would have tried on. She liked it so much and was all smiles leaving the dressing room.

What a fun and rewarding day!!

A HEAT WAVE!!!!

You know it has been a long and cold winter when:
1. You are thrilled to see the grass in your yard after 90 days of snow cover.
2. It is 45 degrees out and you feel like wearing short sleeves.
3. It is 52 degrees out (today) and you can hear your flip-flops calling.
4. While riding down the road in Illinois you swear something looks different. Then your husband says there isn't any snow here.
5. You can finally take your christmas lights off of the bushes. The snow is gone!!!
5. The lake is thawing out!!!!

5 states in one weekend!!!

How is this possible?

Well if you count the airport in Detroit and Minneapolis Sara and Mary saw 5 states in one weekend.
They came to Madison last week. We had a wonderful time. On Friday we had lunch, went to a winery, walked on a lake, saw the Statue of Liberty, ate dinner and went to a few places on State Street.
Yes, I did say we saw Lady Liberty. Only her head peeking out of Lake Mendota. Maybe she got tired of NYC and wanted to go on a road trip.

On Saturday we got up early and went to the Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque, IA and then over to Galena, IL. Dubuque and Galena were both really neat places.
We had a great time!!!
