The end is in sight.....

I feel like singing, "I can see clearly now the snow is gone, I can see all snowflakes leaving my yard, the snow is behind me now and I'm so glad, its gonna be a bright, bright, bright bright snow free day!!"

Well I hope so. The past few days have been so nice...so sunny, so pretty but yet the snow is still here and it is still cold. But I will take 35 anyday compared to 25 or 15 or -30.

The days are longer. In fact Jimmy, Dash and I went walking on our 2 mile trail yesterday after work and it was still light outside when we got back to the house. I was silently singing the Hallelujah chorus as we walked.

I know we will still get snow and I know it will still be cold BUT the end of winter is in sight. I can just smell burgers on the grill, green freshly mowed grass and feel the ice cold salt rimmed margarita in my hand. Forget spring.....bring on summer!

Hi there!

I am falling down on my blog again. The beginning of each new year marks the start of my busy season at work. Things have been crazy here. My boss retired, we hired a new one, I started a new project at work and I am attending classes to get my leadership certificate....things have been crazy.

In the midst of all of this Jimmy turned 30, and we celebrated our 4 year anniversary.

Jimmy had a huge surprise birthday party. His dad, sister, brother and sister-in-law all flew in from NC. We met at the Dells' biggest indoor waterpark, The Wilderness. It was a blast. We rode rides, we partied, we ate, we went to a casino, we lived it up! It was a great surprise and Jimmy was happy!

We celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday. My how time flies! Jimmy bought me a beautiful necklace and some earrings.

Where have I been?

I am letting my blog down. I know I have SO many followers just wondering what I have been up to..haha =)

Well on the work front, things are getting really busy and my supervisor is retiring. Changes, changes at work....we will see how that goes.

On the fun front I mean home front, everything is good. We are shopping for some basement furniture which is always exciting. I am saying that very sarcastically. Yesterday we picked out a great set of furniture and had big plans for it. The new stuff would go in our living room and my old furniture would move into the basement. Easier said than done. Needless to say that before we bought the new stuff we went home to make sure our old furniture would fit into the basement door. NOPE. way too big!! Why is our basement door so small!?

Oh well we found a really cool sofa from World Market and we think we will buy it....plus it is a sleeper sofa too. Extra bonus.

We also just got back from a fun weekend in St. Louis with Bill, Courtney, Damon and Carrie. We had a great time! We went to the arch, a casino, bars, and toured St. Louis. We decided to make it a tradition on MLK weekend. Can't wait for next year.

On the Dash front. He has graduated. Well, he is in a trial period of not having to sit in his crate all day. We bought two baby gates and quarantined him to the kitchen and living room. We went home today at lunch expecting to see cotton puff from the sofa, wood chips, half eaten books and food strewn all over the living room but he was a good boy. Jimmy and I had no faith in him....hopefully he is still being good as I type this. Maybe I spoke too soon.

Heat Wave

It is a whopping 36 degrees today. Tropical heat wave.
This means I can walk outside without scarf, gloves and hat (if its not windy). Thankful that I dont' have to bundle up and waddle around today.....its the little things

You know it is cold when:

1. You judge the weather, what you wear and for how long you stay outside based on how bad it hurts. Today for example it doesn't hurt.

2. You shovel your driveway and come inside only to find out you have icicles hanging from your hair.

3. It is too cold to snow.

4. Snow stays on the trees for weeks.

5. Your nose hairs freeze when you inhale.

Over the mountains and through the snow to Ruffin we go......
Thankfully we got the tail end of the snowstorm and made it there safely.
Here are some pictures from our Christmas vacation:

Traveling through Bluefield, VA. I believe this is Big Walker Mountain.
I took this picture around Huntington, WV.

Gene helping prepare dinner.

Mom and Dad before dinner.

Everyone trying on their aprons. Keith likes Sara's. Or maybe this one was really intended for Keith.
